You know you are behind with blogging if you are only posting about Thanksgiving and it's almost February. I blame blogger though; it took me two weeks to be able to upload my pictures and they are all uploaded backwards so I'll be starting from the last of the week and working towards the beginning.

In the matter of two days I took over 630 pictures; forgive me, but it was the first time all of my uncles and aunts of my fathers' side have been together in nearly a decade I'm sure.

So, needless to say, LOTS of pictures. I've posted a few and I'll comment accordingly. I believe I caught all of the need-to-see moments in at least one picture and shared at least one.
If anyone knows my grandmother they should know that she delights in music; one of the songs she always did with us growing up was "tootie-tah". She'd stand in front of us, thumbs up, elbows out, knees bent, shoulders back, tongue out... tootie-tah, tootie-tah, tootie-tah tah... Oh, we'd all get a good laugh at it. So this year my cousin Michael asked her to do it; it might have been a form of nostaligia but it also might have been him wanting to show his kids what crazy grandma use to put us through.
My cousin Tommy, light blue shirt, is one of the most funny kids I know. Growing up with a cousin who has down-syndrome was a little weird when young; you weren't sure how to act around him or what to do when he got angry but as time went on and being together again for thanksgiving I think it's obvious that our family would NOT be as much fun nor would it be complete without him.
This was one of the poses he did to try and get the kids to smile for family pictures, usually accompanied with some kind of animal noise either pig or monkey.
Aunt Sharie, Tommy's mom, tells us he LOVES the pretty girls; so is it any surprise that when it was time for pictures he would only come back if Stephani went with him? Nah... no surprise there.
Family picture with the grandparents. Yes, we were missing two of the boys but this is just to show them what they missed.
Simeon and Alex came to play in the Ray family Turkey bowl with us. Let's just say that it took a LONG time in between snaps for the other team to get their act together so they had fun tossing the ball back and forth with my father.
Simeon throwing it back to dad.
Another Brent Ray family picture. Notice how they put the desert army family in tan... yeah... we know we are loved.
Again with the standing around, but it's to be expected; boys are just jittery to get in there!
Dad tossing the ball to himself during a break; this picture doesn't really highlight anything, but I thought it was a nice picture.
Alex, and Simeon whom you cannot see, were dad's sidekicks the whole game and were our best players.
Grandma and Grandpa Ray in Red, Dad in Tan, Uncle Bruce in Orange, Aunt Laree in Purple, Aunt Peggie in Green and Aunt Sharie in Blue... The family Ray.
There was a little bit of an argument at the house as these flags went up. Our family is VERY patriotic and so Grandma and Grandpa Ray have a flag pole in their front yard for the American Flag; however, dad brought an Army flag for him to fly too. Now, we have a lot of Army presence in the family but there is also some Air Force too. The reason for the Army is NOT because my father serves in the Army rather it's because my grandfather served in the Army.
So, here goes Alex, we had the Ray Family Turkey Trot and Alex actually ran the whole thing. Now you might think, oh, it was a mile... NO, this was a THREE MILE run. And the kid ran the whole thing and beat a lot of the adults!
This picture was taken at the end of it and behind him is my Uncle Marvin whom he ran the whole thing with.
At the end of the race Alex ran right out of his shoe!
Mahonri finishing; came in third (not counting Jordan who cheated) after running an extra mile or so due to lack of directional sense.
And here are the running buddies. Uncle Marvin was so nice to run with Alex.
My crazy Aunt Peggie whom we all LOVE!
So, story time, Stephani and my cousin Daniel started out this 'race' together. I was in the car taking pictures when I started to wonder where they were since I had not seen them pass me in a LONG time. So I'm driving around and I found them stopped at a friends house... TALKING! SLACKERS!
Simeon and Alex studying over the course map for the Turkey Trot.
So, I already told you about my cousin Tommy, but when we first got there he would pose whenever he saw me with my camera, a lot of times it'd be a cute innocent pose, but this one just happened to be kissing at me. Another funny Tommy story is that he communicates a lot by writing and so he brought me a piece of paper with names like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and other pretty girl names on it. Aunt Sharie explained to me that those are the names of his crushes. I think he likes them for their music though ;)
And of course, one final picture of the Ray siblings from youngest to oldest doing what they do best, nothing serious :)
It was an amazing weekend full of family and good times. I can't wait to do it again; hopefully with even more family.

PLAY BALL!
So, I have some really cute cousins who are right at that age of starting to play sports and while I can't post a lot of pictures of them (they aren't my kids and my blog isn't blocked) I thought it'd be fun to post a couple and hope their mom doesn't kill me :)
So Broc is his name, he is almost 5 and playing T-ball. He loves it but I wonder sometimes if his younger brother, Britton, loves it more. Broc is a really cool kid who loves to pound the ball as far as he can and just like all the other kids when their in the field will run after the ball no matter where it was hit to.
Yep, he's a lefty, just like his dad... They all look so professional and grown up with their pants tucked into their socks.
Running the bases after hitting a 'homerun'
And of course who can forget the BEST part of little league sports... the SNACKS!!!

One last tid-bit of information, these cute kids' father is the coach for the team and I thought this picture was just awesome for telling a story... DeWy is like 7'11"... I MIGHT be exagerating, but he's at least 6'8" so to these kids he might as well be 8'4" or whatever I said earlier. DeWy could be sitting and the kids on their toes and he'd still be taller than most of them.

I overheard some mom's talking once who weren't really close enough to see just how tall he was but one of them commented on how cute those kids were. The other said something to the extent of how little they all are; not even coming up to that guy's waist. That 'guy' was DeWy. I wanted to turn to them and merely say, nope, he's just that tall and look at him as he lines this next batter up!

Britton, the younger of the two wants so badly to play baseball too; after every game he goes running out to the diamond yelling: my turn! He has a pretty nice swing already and can pretty much kill the ball, now if only he could figure out if he's going to bat right or left handed... Ah well, more money if you are a switch-hitter.

The poor guy got tired of running AROUND the fence to get balls he tried just stuffing them through. Ah, what a cute little guy.

Caption for this picture is either, "Why did I get stuck with this thing" or "Muwahaha, it's mine, all mine!" He really just wants to help...

Ok, so Halloween take 2! My friend Stacey and I had planned on going to a bunch of parties and well, why go if you aren't going to dress up? So we had a Family Home Evening party with another YSA ward and we came up with this beauty of an idea...

I'm not sure who the TINKERBELL is... but the story goes like this. Stacey and I, she's Hannah and I'm Miley, had to come up with a last minute plan for costumes. She had a blonde wig and I had a brunette wig; yes, I'm really blonde and yes, she's really a brunette, but why do things they easy way?

So I got all Miley'd up and she got all Hannah'd up and we go to this party. At first not a lot of people got who we were, a LOT of the younger crowd understood so we were feeling alright but the best moment came when TINKERBELL found us.

All the sudden we hear, "OH MY GOSH, IT'S HANNAH MONTANA!" So, I turn around and the shriek gets louder, "MILEY CYRUS!!" Ok, our costumes weren't that great, that's why we put our names on our shirts, but holy cow! She grabbed us both by our arms and told us not to move she had to go get her camera.

A little scared we thought it'd be wise not to move. Ten minutes later when she didn't return we gave up on her and started walking around; fifteen minutes later... "THERE YOU ARE!" At the top of her lungs... I can't believe how excited she was... I was a little scared to be honest with you but eh, whatever.

We posed for a picture and let TINKERBELL get back to Fairy land. Within a couple days we see this picture posted on Facebook thanks to a few mutual friends.

In the end, it was quite the story and gave us a few laughs. Not every day do you hear a fairy giddy with excitement to see you :)

So this year for Halloween I decided to surprise EVERYONE and actually dress up for the celebrations.

I had been thinking long and hard about what I should go as since I am not very creative I had to start EARLY!

So, I came up with this fantastic idea...

So, here's the question... WHO am I? I actually went to a party and was thrown up on stage for the costume contest... I LOST to Mary Poppins, but I call foul because NOBODY knew what was going on when they were 'voting'...

Where in the World is Sara D. Ray? Well, that's the question!

Location: My front yard, and Drive Way

So, I'm not going to DARE tell you WHEN this happened, but it happened one morning and I love the story behind it.

I had gone out the night prior to my birthday with some friends and they dropped me off because I needed to study for a test. Yes, I had a test on my birthday; who does that??? Anyhow, so I go inside to study, get a call inviting me to go hot-tubbing; yes it was like 10 at night, but who cares, so off I went. I was gone until close to midnight.

When I wake in the morning I see this...

Yes, my car said, "Happy birthday to me! My other car is a party wagon!" and the drive said random things like, Where in the World is Sara D. Ray on her birthday?... Hey Billy called, he wants his goggles back... and other things that made me laugh on this particular day.

So here is why this is funny; the people who dropped me off were the ones who did all this for my birthday... When they dropped me off they went to the store to get window markers and chalk; by the time they got back my car was gone and it was not back until nearly two hours later... They were not happy but I thought it was hillarious because they kept driving by my house waiting for my car to come home. Haha, teaches you to tag my car!!

I was almost caught up and now I'm back to playing catch-up-blogging... Ah well.

Back in October a friend of a friend was celebrating his birthday by of course, going to Six Flags. So I got the invite and off we went for one crazy long weekend in a van for most of the time. It was of course fun though, we got soaked on a water rapids right and in the end it was just one of those things you had to be there to enjoy!

To commemorate the day we made shirts; they say, "Seth is turning 30, so we're here to party... like it's his birthday!"
On the sleeve it marked the day, October 10, 2009; when the birthday boy saw the day he started asking what was going on and the look and excitement on his face was PRICELESS!! He was like a kid on the first day of kindergarten! Although it did take him awhile to see the shirt it was still funny. This is the three of us with the birthday boy... he's also wearing a pin that says, kiss me it's my birthday... yes he did get a few kisses that day.
Who DOESN'T have fun at an amusement park? Steph and I have a TON of fun of course!!!
And it's pictures like these that prove the amount of fun we have :)

After arriving in Ft. Huachuca we were so eager to have Spencer graduate from AIT. It really was fun to see all the guys there and we are all so VERY proud of Spud.
Look, it's his name! He IS graduating ;)
Steph and I got a kick out of this, it's like Where's Waldo on the last page where EVERYONE is dressed up like Waldo... Where's Spencer? Finally we found Spud, tell me why his first question was, 'Where's Tawni and DeWy?' Like thanks Spud, it's not like I HAVEN'T see you for 2 years!
Everyone getting some words of encouragement from the MC
Finally, Spud received his certificate. IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
One of the other soldiers looking over his certificate, YES, they've done it!
And I love this picture of Spud, I love that he allowed me to take this picture :)
And there he is! The newest soldier in our family, continuing the tradition of the Ray family.
Spud we love you so much, even if we do make fun of you... a lot! It's how we show you we love you ;)
