Location: Venice, Italy

So welcome to Venice, Italy. I went to Venice over the Columbus Day holiday and had so much fun. I was a little worried because we left Germany at about 1000 Hrs and when we got to the airport needless to say it was freezing cold! I was afraid Venice being on the water was going to be even colder.
Needless to say when we did get to Venice we were dying of a heat stroke with my sweater AND coat on. I know I may sound pansy saying this, but it was 80 and I was FINALLY in Heaven!

People actually drink out of these fountains... But I wouldn't DARE touch the canal water with a 10 foot pole.

A metal garden. It was cool. You could actually pick them up and move them to make new shapes.

It's against the law to go to Italy and not take a single picture of a statue.

Bridge over one of the many canals facing out to the ocean.

Lion... grrrr!

The local transportation... seriously, for EVERYONE!

A pirate ship... Yes, it actually had pirates that would show you around if you had the right amount of money.

The grand Canal.

The churches in the city of Venice are so grand. It's amazing they still exist.

I had never seen a tug boat actually working before. This was pretty cool!

A Gondolla traffic jam!

This was the final shot from Venice, what a wonderful weekend, but I don't know if I will make it back there again.

I didn't get to ride a gondolla, but I would highly suggest it for anyone who does go to Venice. Problem was finding time. After walking the whole weekend we really napped most of the evenings away.

Where in the world is Sara D. Ray? Well, Now you know.
